This is the second volume of papers from the Irish Postgraduate Film Research Seminar designed to encourage Irish film scholarship and the study of Irish film. Intended to provide a platform for a growing body of work by young scholars on Irish and other cinemas, this volume provides a stimulating discussion on national and international film.

Kevin Rockett, associate professor in Film Studies, head of the school of drama, film and music, TCD, is the author of the critically acclaimed Irish film censorship: a cultural journey from silent cinema to internet pornography (FCP, 2004). Professor John Hill is Head of the School of Media and the Performing Arts School of Media and Performing Arts, University of Ulster (Coleraine). He is also Governor of the British Film Institute.
