This book charts the development of the Church of Ireland, beginning with an inquiry into the early Irish Church, continuing through the medieval period and the emergence of the post-Reformation established Church, and surveying the fortunes of the Church of Ireland from the seventeenth to the twentieth century.
Canon Robert MacCarthy was formerly Fellow and Dean of St Cross College, Oxford, and a librarian of Pusey House. He is now Dean of St Patrick’s Cathedral and is the author of Estates of Trinity College, 1800-1923 (Dundalk, 1992).
